L’édition de cette année se déroulera sous la bannière More Than Music et récompensera les réalisations musicales dans plusieurs catégories, notamment Afropop, hiplife, hip hop, gospel et alternative.
« More Than Music est une mise à jour du célèbre mantra des 3Music Awards, Here for the Music, et résume bien l’élévation des normes et de la composition de l’événement cette année. Cette année, il y aura plus de segments, plus de récompenses, plus d’inclusivité et une portée plus large. Nous mettons l’accent sur la musique et tous les autres auxiliaires qui facilitent et permettent le succès de la forme d’art », a déclaré le PDG de 3Media Networks, Sadiq Abdulai Abu.
Les 3Music Awards 2022 verront le retour d’un public en direct après les éditions numériques en raison des restrictions COVID-19 au cours des deux dernières années.
Le chanteur afropop KiDi, qui a été le plus grand gagnant de l’année dernière et a remporté le très convoité prix de l’artiste de l’année, cherchera à conserver son titre. Il fait face à la concurrence de Black Sherif, Celestine Donkor, D-Black, Kuami Eugene, Mr Drew, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy et Gyakie.
Pendant ce temps, le spécialiste du divertissement Vida Adutwumwaa Boateng a été nommé nouveau porte-parole des 3Music Awards. La nomination, selon les organisateurs, est conforme à l’engagement de la plateforme à promouvoir et récompenser les femmes qui se distinguent dans l’espace ghanéen du divertissement et des arts.
Boateng apporte à son nouveau poste plus d’une décennie d’expérience de première ligne, ayant travaillé avec un certain nombre de médias ghanéens. L’année dernière, elle a siégé à l’académie des 3Music Awards.
